Before you clear out a flat, keep this in mind
Clearing out a home is almost never just moving furniture. These tips make the process tidier and more respectful, especially when a probate is involved.
Sort before we arrive
Decide calmly what you want to keep, donate or bin. Set aside anything sentimental (photos, documents, small valuables) so it doesn’t get mixed in with the rest during the clear-out.
If it’s a probate clear-out with several people involved, agreeing beforehand on who keeps what avoids having to stop the work halfway through.
Document anything of value
With probate it’s worth keeping a record: photograph furniture, artwork, appliances or important documents before the clear-out starts. It’s reassuring for all parties.
If something unexpected turns up (jewellery, money, documents), we set it aside and hand it to you. We work with discretion and respect.
Ask about what happens to what’s removed
Clearing out doesn’t have to mean binning. What’s in good condition can be donated to social organisations, and the rest is recycled by material or taken to a recycling point.
